How to create a good filter

Create a Souk filter using price, category, brand, size, color, material, condition, country, seller and keyword criteria, then enable notifications.

Filters notify you when new items matching your criteria appear on Vinted.
Here’s how to create an optimized filter for the best results.

1. Accessing the Filters Page

  1. Open the app or the website: https://souk.to
  2. Log into your account.
  3. Go to the Filters tab.

  1. Click Create a filter.
  2. Choose a specific category if possible. Category is optional, but too many results can prevent you from saving the filter. If this happens, narrow your search with a more specific category or other criteria.

3. Price range

Set a minimum price, a maximum price, or both to match your budget. These amounts refer to the item’s listing price, excluding platform fees and shipping costs.

4. Item details and condition

Use these criteria to describe the items you want. Category, brand and color are optional; add the criteria that matter to your search.

  • Categories and brands: categories describe the type of item, while brands identify the brands you want. Choose a specific category if possible to narrow a broad search. Leave the brand criterion unset if any brand is acceptable.
  • Sizes: choose the sizes you are looking for. Available size options depend on the item category.
  • Colors and materials: colors restrict the listed color of the item; materials restrict its composition, such as cotton, wool or leather. These criteria use the details recorded in the listing.
  • Condition (States): choose the item conditions you accept, such as new with tags or very good. This refers to the condition listed by the seller, not whether your Souk filter is enabled.
  • Category-specific details: depending on the category, additional criteria can include model, storage capacity, battery health, SIM lock or video-game platform. For books, ISBNs let you target specific references.

5. Countries and seller criteria

Countries: choose the Vinted countries your filter should search. Check the selected countries when creating the filter. See Choose countries for your filters for more details.

Sellers: you can restrict results to specific seller usernames or IDs, set a minimum or maximum number of seller ratings, or set a minimum rating score. The number of ratings measures how many reviews a seller has; the score measures their rating out of 5. You can also exclude Vinted Pro sellers.

6. Keywords

In Souk’s web editor, organize keywords into groups:

  • Keywords in the same group are alternatives: the listing needs at least one of them (OR).
  • Every separate group must match (AND).
  • An excluded keyword rejects the listing even if the positive groups match.

For example, put nike and adidas in one group, and hoodie and sweatshirt in another. A listing containing nike hoodie can match; it does not need all four words. Other filter criteria still apply.

Adding words to one group broadens the alternatives. Adding another required group narrows the results. Matching ignores letter case and accents.

7. Adjust your criteria

A search that returns too many results can prevent you from saving the filter. Narrow it with a specific category or other relevant criteria.

If your filter returns few or no matching listings, review whether its criteria are too restrictive. Every required keyword group must match, and excluded keywords can remove otherwise relevant listings. Adjust the criteria to match what you actually want to find.

8. Enable notifications

Make sure that:

  • Souk notifications are enabled on your device (Settings → Notifications, section This device).
  • The New item matches switch is on in Settings → Notifications.
  • Both the filter and its notifications are activated.

9. Test your filter

Go to your Feed:

  • If items appear → everything works.

  • If nothing appears after a long time (a few hours for rare items, an hour for popular items), contact us with:

    • one or more item links that should appear
    • the exact name of the filter

Filter states

  • Filter ON : Filter activated
  • Notif ON : Notifications enabled
  • Notif OFF : Filter active but notifications off
  • Filter OFF : Filter disabled

You can also choose the countries searched by each filter to focus on the markets you want.
